Localized mini-networks of cultural places
Mini Networks
The aim of this activity was to create localized mini-networks of cultural places that are present in the local community in order to promote synergies and cooperations that would reinforce their links with the community and would allow them to share resources and collectively increase their audience.
These mini-networks included: cinemas, youth organisations, cultural associations, cultural groups, dance companies, galleries, museums, theatres, multiart spaces, libraries, book stores, film schools, art academies NGOs etc. At the beginning of the project, the partners made a mapping of the relevant organisations in order to identify organisations that could participate in the network. The activities organized in the framework of the network were the following:
– Finding mechanisms for cross-promotion. Cross-promotion is an important activity which allows the different cultural places to use each other’s’ audience, networks and resources in order to mutually promote events and activities and benefit from the joint strength of the cooperating organisations. Mutual agreements allowed the organization of these cross-promotion activities. The cross-promotion was about events, programs, activities and knowledge. Cross-promotion activities included publicity during the events, shared posts in the social media, cross-links in the websites of different organisations, production of common trailers for special events.
– Use the resources of these cultural organisations in order to enrich the interactive activities with the audience on a thematic basis. For example, if there was screened a film related with racism and a local bookstore had relevant books, it presented them after the screening. The same was true also for different cultural expressions that speak on this problem in cinema, in books, in theater, in paintings, in music. A dialogue between all those arts on a public display with the inclusion of the local community, grew a bigger impact. These encounters were also the opportunity to exchange content in an interdisciplinary way. The joint promotion of different cultural expressions had as a result the increase of cultural engagement.
– Organisation of screenings of films organized by the cinema clubs in each region in different cultural places. 8 screenings (in each region) were made in one of the cultural places mentioned in order to foster the cooperation between the different organisations that belong to the localized mini-network.
